What's up everyone? Welcome to day 38 of
my small account challenge of growing a
$2,000 account using Charles Schwab as
my broker. Today is another solid green
day and an exciting milestone in this
small account challenge series because
today we donated to the 50th Children's
Hospital in the United States. Well, we
had to make a little bit of a exception
because Wyoming doesn't have a
standalone children's hospital. It's the
only state that doesn't. So instead, we
donated to Jason's Friends, which is a
foundation in Wyoming that serves
children. And so we have now donated
over $475,000
to children's hospitals across the
country. But my goal of turning this
account into $100,000 is not yet
complete. So as I continue to grow the
account from its current balance up to
$100,000, we'll continue doing
charitable donations since all the money
goes to charity. and we'll probably do
Washington DC, um, US Virgin Islands,
Puerto Rico, and we got a couple other
places and a couple other ideas as well.
So, thank you guys because every time
you hit the thumbs up, you add an extra
dollar to how much I donate. So, this
has been an incredible challenge, but
it's not over yet. Today, day 38, we had
our leading gainer, Jun Ns Junes, that's
how I was pronouncing it. Um, stock
meets my five pillars of stock
selection. You've got demand up more
than 10%. Check. You've got relative
volume of 415 times average. You've got
a news catalyst. I was a little
suspicious of it, but it technically had
a news catalyst that was posted on the
Benzinga newsfeed. Um, at 7:09 a.m., I
believe it was. Uh, price was between 2
and 20, which is great. Float was under
20 million shares, being quite low
because it's a recent reverse split,
which is a bit of a um sort of bonus
points for being a recent reverse split.
So, it met five out of the five pillars.
And yet, you can see it was a little bit
choppy. It pops up, it sells off. It
pops up and this candle right here, the
red one was the highest volume candle of
the day and and it was red, which is,
you know, not very attractive. At that
point, I thought, I don't know that this
is going to work. Clearly, it's just
it's not happening. It pops up again and
it rejects. I said, no, I don't think
this is going to work. And then it comes
up to this level right here and it
hesitates just for a moment right under
the high. And I decided to punch it. I
took a trade right at the high of day,
but not in my small account. Why not?
Well, it's Friday. It's the end of the
week, and this week I haven't done as
well in my main account. In my main
account, well, just like the small
account, I suppose I've been on a little
bit of a roller coaster. So, um even
though these uh this recap is really
focused on uh the small account, I'll
just highlight my big account for a
moment. So, um in my big account, I was
read on Friday of last week. I made back
those losses on Monday and Tuesday,
which got me back to flat. Wednesday was
a $500 red day. Thursday, I didn't take
any trades. And so today, I was kind of
like I thought to myself, let's just
focus on the main account to try to get
that, you know, a little more profit
since I really am just flat versus the
loss from last Friday. So anyways, when
Jun first popped up, um I wasn't sure I
was going to trade it at all. And then
ultimately I did end up breaking the ice
and I got in um right here at about uh
741 and then added as it broke through
the half dollar of 750. Uh we got the
break of 775 $850
950
all the way up to 10 up to 1050 and
cha-ching. Amazing. What a move. 1.2
million shares of volume in that candle
and I locked up in my main account
$35,000.
Now, I added, as you could see, pretty
high. I kept once I had a cushion. I
kept adding. I was like, "Okay, here we
go." And what ended up well, I took
profit and then I added back. Uh, but I
got some slippage. I didn't get my
fulfill on those orders and we stalled
out. Had the formation of this topping
tail and then we began to unwind. So, at
that point, I put the big account on the
shelf. I said, "All right, big account,
you're going on the shelf. $35,000.
That's a solid day. Good work. Now,
small account, your turn." So in the
small account, this pops up right here
and we get a rejection. Well, it's
fairly extended and we had this big
topping tail. It sells off a little bit
more. Another rejection goes lower, goes
lower. So then we get this curl back up
right through here. And I was watching
it at 875, but I wasn't sure because at
that time the MACD was negative. So I
didn't take that trade, but when it
curled right up here to about 950 and
pulled back, I took this final trade
right here. And on that trade, I lost
$200. So I was read $245. And I thought,
well, all right, you know what? It's a
small red day in the small account. No
big deal. MACD didn't quite curl to
positive. I thought it was going to, but
it just sort of stalled out. And then we
got this really interesting move. So,
this was the first squeeze right here,
the micro pullback right around 750
where I got my first trade in the big
account. Then it pulls back, sells off,
consolidation under 75, 875, breaks it
there. Probably should have taken that
trade, but I didn't. took this trade
right here, ended up not uh going up to
10, was in a little too high, stopped
out. Then it comes back and I had um
done a a small dip trade on this double
bottom here with a thousand shares.
Actually, I'm sorry, this wasn't a
double bottom. This was the previous uh
resistance here was 875. So, when it
came back down to that level, I bought
the dip there and it came back up and I
made like 150 bucks on it, 15 cents a
share. So, I was only down 100 on the
day after that trade, whatever. Then it
comes up here. Um, and it squeezes up
and I'm watching it, but I'm not quite
sure. And then it drops like a rock. It
just hits this flush. Uh, someone must
have marked it out or a huge sell order
goes through. It flushes to 875. And the
second I saw that, I'm watching the
level two and I was like, whoa, double
bottom. Double bottom right off the
previous resistance level. And I punched
it. I punched it right there and I got
partial fills at 78, 81,86, 88, 92 and
um then it pops here back up to 950 and
I took the profit off the table. So, you
know what? It ended up going all the way
up to $10 a share and then a moment
later it flushes back down. So, we got
the dip, the rip back up. I took my
profit, sold probably too early, and
then a moment later it rejects and goes
all the way back down again. And I was
like, I'm not going back for that. I'm
not touching it. And so [sighs] even
though you had this big rejection, this
is the one minute chart, I was able to
profit by buying the dip, selling up
here before it reversed back down. It
was a very quick trade. Um, not the type
of trade I've taken very often in the
small account. I haven't taken as many
of those dip trades. Um, but it paid off
and I'm up $2,37244.
So we've got a nice green day here in
the small account. We've got a nice
green day here in the big account.
$37,000 on a Friday. finally a Friday
that I'm green after being red um the
last couple Fridays. Well, at least in
the big account. I don't remember on the
small account. So, nonetheless, that's
where I finished the week. And uh I
appreciate you guys tuning in, hitting
the thumbs up. Those of you guys that
want to watch over my shoulder next week
as I continue growing the account up to
$100,000, feel free to tune in. We've
got a two-eek trial for $20. And I'll
remind you as always that trading is
risky. My results are not typical, and
there's no guarantee you'll find success
whether you trade with me or you learn
on your own. So, please manage your
risk, take it slow, and always practice
in a simulator before putting real money
on the line. If I had done that, it
would have saved me years of heartache,
frustration, and unnecessary losses. So,
please take it slow. And if you want to
check out another episode in this
series, I'll put links to them right up
here. With that, I will see you guys
streaming bright and early at 7 a.m. on
Monday morning.
